I will be looking for rock in the coming weeks, once the tank is up and plumbed.

Is there a place locally that has decent rock that I can pick through thats not $6-7per#?

Is anyone selling some sweet rock in a few weeks time, nothing now.

Is macrorocks.com good enough? Will I be happy or have any problems?

I have the patience to watch the rock cycle but thier rock still semes expensive for the weight I would be ordering. 70 or so lbs.

Any input would be welcomed.

illinois side pet stores way to high on live rock, get some reefgirl and put in some plastic totes with water and powerhead until ready that is a good price for live rock.

I agree. It's a great deal, and the rock would be fine for a couple weeks in some totes (or a big rubbermaid) with a heater and powerhead. You could probably even borrow this stuff (heaters, totes, powerheads) from people near you if you don't have it.

i have to mj mods want not mounted and the other silicone to a mag float both are maxi jet 1200's mods. i use unmounted one for mixing salt in 20 gallon bucket. might just have to put them both on here for a trade or something cause i really do not use them anymore.

What's the shipping on rock these days? I just paid $13.00 ups for a lumenarc and that thing doesn't weigh anything.

Shipping is crazy most places i have seen. Main reason I am looking for local or a local drive I could do in a day.

We can drive to Premium Aquatics together if you want. I won't be ready for a couple weeks or three. Jason will let us pick from his tanks;)

I would actually like to hand pick my rock. I really don't need much in the tank itself. Most will be in the sump and fuge. I'm going minimalist in the display.

I will be gone the first week in June. When you planning to go nook?

Slash road trip in the making??

Are you getting a bulk discount on the rock filling up your tanks?

I don't need much rock, just the right pieces. I can go in June sometime no problem.

I talked with chad and I will stop by his store this weekend and look around but honestly the rock types I am looking for arent usually found in a local store and if they are its $7+ a lb.
