Last week I received a small piece of Lobophyllia Brain coral. It has not opened up since I have gotten it. I moved it up towards the top of my tank to see if more light would help it, but didn't have any luck. Any suggestions to help it come back? Thanks!

Current conditions:
Temp: 75 degrees
Nitrates: 4ppm
Calcium: 430ppm
Alk: 12.5 ppm
SG: 1.024
Lighting: 4 18" T-5's

Put it down on the bottom and leave it there. Check your phosphates. Also don't put to much flow on it. Lobos do not like to be fragged if this is a frag cross your fingers.

+1 on low flow and on the sand.

You can tell if it is too much flow if it looks like the flesh is being shoved up againt the skeleton.

As stated above... low flow, low light... I keep mine on the sand bed where its even a little shaded and its happy and growing

Depending on the species of lobophyllia it could take it a time to open. (15 days..3 keeks) so I'll give it some tiem to recover before stressing it too much with different locations and intensity of light. If it is not ill it will open even if it does not get as much light as it will need for long term health
