loc-line sizing

I'm gonna ask a really dumb question here, but this loc line sizing has me baffled.

I have existing loc-line that is installed with my overflows.

When I measure the diameter of the existing loc-line, it measures 3/4" at one end, and 15/16" at the other end. To me, I would take this as being 3/4" loc-line. yes?

I ordered more 3/4" loc-line to extend my current arrangement. Upon opening the 3/4" loc-line packages, the loc-line is almost twice the size of what I currently have. This loc-line measures 1" at one end, and 1-3/16" at the other end. To me, this is 1" loc-line, no?

how is loc-line measured and how do i know which to order? Even the 3/4" loc-line pliers are huge.

Do I in fact have 1/2" If so, where does 1/2" come in to play? Not one piece of my loc-line is 1/2"

I believe It's measured based on the inside diameter at the smallest point but you also go based on the thread size of the fitting that it connects to. The loc-line on your tank is most certainly half inch.

i received the 1/2" loc-line yesterday. Yeah, that is definitely the right size. I purchased the loc-line tool as well. damn, that made that job a lot easier.

I wish there was an easier way to remove installed loc-line. I needed to remove the end piece to extend the line. In order to do this I was tugging and folding the line trying to get them to come apart. I was trying to avoid disassembling the whole durso pipe set up. After the tight bending and pulling, i was able to get it apart.

Assembly was much easier :) Now i have longer lines that bring flow to the front corners of the tank. wahoooooooo
