Local club or resources in DC or VA

I'm new to the hobby and interested in finding local resources in the DC or Northern VA area. I've been to the local stores, but more interested in a reef club or society were I can learn more from local people. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

You can check out the WAMAS forums; sometimes the front page gets hijacked but it's a good local site with some very helpful members.

I second that.

WAMAS has some very helpful, friendly and generous members. Even, Paul, the gentleman with a 40+ years old tank stops in to give feedback and answer questions on the forum. To hear from a guy who has been doing this for almost half a century, and stay low tech, is priceless, IMO.

And, if you pay a small membership fee, you can sell and buy stuff from other members. You'll recoup that $20 annual fee in no time.
