Anyone want to share good areas for collecting snails hermits and such. Abiding by fwc of course. Will be in area in couple weeks.

Fort desoto area is the local spot of choice. Hopefully someone else can give you details on the exact location(s).

I have found tons of hermits and snails off cypress beach. The water is shallow and at low tide there is a lot of area you can cover without even getting your knees wet.

I think anywhere where there is grass flats works. Fort Desota was nice, I wanna try over by the skyway, just north of the north rest area. I've gone to Belleair and collected hermits and snails before.

If you have a boat there is a great place right by the skyway. there is a couple football fields worth of 2-3' deep grass flats. Be careful there lots of stingrays and I have caught several hammer heads there. They come up in the flats looking for rays.

There are usually tons of dwarf cerith snails and white legged hermit crabs. I've seen urchins, fighting conchs, whelks, and other items I can't remember right now as well.

Yeah those are what I've picked up at Belleair, the dwarf ceriths and white legged hermits. I've also seen a pretty huge fighting conch there one night.

Skyway causeway is the best location I've found for the most variety of marine life

I really want to check out Fort De Soto. I used to collect at the Sebastian Inlet when i lived on the eastern coast.

we were able to catch our limit of white legs and cerith snails, found some brown legs at north beach. Besides the beach part, they were found in the river side near campground. next time we go back, we will look around the bridge.

Just seen post 11 image, we will look there next time.

I when today to the rest area just before the bridge ..., a lot of snails and white leg crabs also saw a big star fish... no fish :(
