this piece was on the sand, then i noticed the encrusting part coloring up so i put it higher. The encrusting part is smooth. Lokani or a simplex. what do you guys think?
btw, since i'm posting here i might as well post this one too. the entire mother colony has curving flat branches like this one. i was told it was a simplex but couldnt find anything under simplex that resembled this on the web. thanks in advance
The 1st pic IMO is lokani.
The 2nd pic if it is not simplex it would be elegans. It being flat is a trait shared by both. This is why I think the first pic is lokani, and not simplex.
(however I think your coral is elegans.)
Nice scores on both BTW!
Hope this helps.
Thanks N8ureman. The mother colony of the 2nd acro has more of a stag-like growth, while the elegans looks more like a table. Do lokanis have that sheen to them?
No problem . Glad I could help. As far as the sheen you mention on the lokani yes they can depending on the lighting they are under and if they are happy.
