Long clear worm??

I am trying to figure out if this hitchhiker worm is okay to keep or not. I couldn't get a photo of it because it is so thin (think strand of hair). It's clear/white and looks like a feather. The worm is straight and has a bunch of arms going down the sides of it. Looks similar to a comb in shape. Any ideas?

Is it attached to your rock? If so maybe digitate hydroid. From what I've read they do sting. Usually only see them when lights are out. I also read they will disappear over time.
I started out with a few, next thing you know they were all over my tank. Now they are just disappearing. Still have some but not nearly as many. Didn't hurt anything either.

Definitely a comb jelly! Rare find and good to have (not sure how many reefers have them or even know they have one?). I have one attached under my plate coral and I enjoy watching it feed when the lighting gets low. Mine doesn't extend in the mid day. It has reached nearly 2 feet when it's "fly fishing" for food. It has touched nearly all my corals and has had no effect. However, when I stick my finger in the tank and touch it's tentacle it holds tight as I pull away (no effect on me either). It's also amazing how fast it retracts when it senses danger or it has caught something. Hence the reason it looks like a fly fisherman casting. I've had it for months and don't target feed it anything. I imagine it just takes advantage of my target feeding reefroids to my corals. Fascinating creature!
