Hi all,
I just wanted a bit of advise. I recently purchased a long tentacle anemone from my lfs. After acclimatising as instructed by the store, I placed it in my tank where it seemed happy.
When I woke up the next morning it had moved itself between the sand and a live rock in the bottom right corner and it hasnt moved since. It still seemed very happy. Three days later I noticed that its tentacles appeared somewhat deflated but its colour started turning from a very faint rose colour to more of a deeper rose/pinky colour. Its been like this for 2 days and the tentacles do not seem to be showing signs of inflating.
I noticed today that its mouth, whilst closed, was like a small bubble slightly inverting. The tentacles are still waving around and react when something touches them, I.e. brine/mysis shrimp from feeding the fish.
The anemone itself is around 5 inches. The tank is around 250 litres including sump. Its coming up to 7 months old which I was advised that is ok for anemones although I understand that older is better. Measurements are:
Temp - 79
Ph - 8.3
Alkalinity - 9
Nitrates - 2
Nitrites - 0
Ammonia - 0
Do I need to be worried or just monitor her over the next couple of days?
I will try to attach some photos but ive had issues doing so in the past.
Regards,
Jon
