i have a long tentacle that a percula i have had was hosting. just a couple hours ago she looked great and was eating and acting normal. all of a sudden she was breathing hard and swimming erratically. she started acting strange at about three minutes into the first quarter... was dead by the half.

could this be a nem sting?

Yes, the clown has to accumulate the slime from the nem into its own slime before they are safe from the stings. Many people think they are immune, but this is not the case, if they get stung while they are building up the slime into their own, they will die the same as any other fish.
