So I was wondering whats the longest youve ever lost a fish for and found later?
Around 4 years ago a put a Bubblebee Goby in my 480g just saw it again today for the first time in 3 years.

Ummm . . . you win. Three years?! I thought not seeing my gramma for a month was something. Sheesh.

LOL +1 with my tank at the previous owners place there was a clown that went missing 3 montsh before i bought the tank, when i came to disassemble it the clown was in the overflow. died a week later :(

I had a reef lobster I didn't see for about three years, and only because I tore the tank down. I saw his molt from time to time but not the lobster.

i would have to say a fire shrimp who i didnt see for a year until i tore my tank down. now hes in my nano and i see him all the time :)

Going on 24 hours since seeing my new Helfrichi Firefish....hopefully he's still in there (closed top no access to overflow or back chambers of nanocube).

though my female Flame wrasse died in my 125 FOWLR, but then she reappeared after about a month. It was the strangest thing as she is not skittish.

I have found molts every month for the last year or so, they are from a pistol shrimp(I think). Never seen the actual shrimp nor its burrow, also don't have any snails other than stometella. I will see him in a few months when I move my tank, maybe.

4 Weeks, newly added Tobacco Basslet... Dropped him in, never saw him again... Though he was doomed... 2 weeks later, he darts out and is 3 times the size, fat and healthy!!

I lost a 4 in. diamond sand sifter goby in my 65g. Thats a pretty large fish to lose in that size of tank. No carpet surfing, no fins, no carcass...NOTHING. Just vanished like a fart in the wind

My diamond goby was missing for a week, lol, and I lifted up his rock and found him resting. Fairly sure he had the flu that week, or something, cause now he's back to normal.

I was checking out my sump and found a shrimp molt on the polyfiber pad. I discovered the TW0 peppermint shrimps I thought had died 4 months earlier. They took a long ride thru the teeth of the overflow, managed to get out of the rushing water and a filter sock, and now are living peacefully in the refugium area. Weird! Thought they were goners from the beginning!

Same with me it was a bumbleblee goby but only 3 months. After taking everything out for selling I found it. I had 3 of them only saw 2 at one time and they were the ones that had the markings.
