My longhorn cowfish has been in my DT for about a week or so now. The DT is a 240 (72x28x30) with 2 MP40's on opposite ends of the tank running at 100%, in reefcrest mode, out of sync (when 1 is high the other is low). I"ll be bringing my third MP40 online as soon as I fix it. I also have another 1000 gph coming through the return pump. I was a little concerned that this would be too much flow. I shouldn't have worried. He does just fine. The cowfish is about 3 inches long in the body.
Other occupants of the tank are 2x clownfish, yellow tang, diamond goby, and a green chromis. The cowfish has been great except for chomping on my dendrophyllia when it wanted the mysis shrimp that the dendro had caught but not yet pulled into its mouth. The dendro is still recovering 3 days later.
The cowfish should really be called a pigfish based on how much he eats. He'll eat the equivalent of a cube of frozen mysis per day. He only seems to like flake if I hold a large pinch in my fingers. He isn't as interested in pursuing individual flakes. He eats from my hand (don't let him nip you, my LFS says it hurts).
Sorry for the large files. I'm still learning how to use photobucket.
