Please help me identify this squiggly worm coming out of the side of purple fire fish. Thanks so much!

The worm is very long and squiggly.

I've seen an almost exact picture a while back here on RC. I believe there was a good result posted I'm searching. I didn't find it if I don't come back. lol

Couldn't find the exact thread but I think it looks like an anchor worm, which I have seen in threads only, but couldn't remember the name. I found this old post by Humblefish "anchor worm - treatable with Dimilin"

I know humblefish spends a great deal of time in the fish disease forum and IMO FWIW he is very knowledgeable. Might be worth sending him a PM to see if that clicks with him.

Ya know, you may be right.

To the OP: Scroll down on this thread (props to bnumair) until you see ANCHOR WORMS. See if that looks like what is on the firefish.

Thank you all for the replies. The picture of anchor worm in the thread that HumbleFish mentioned appears long and straight. The fire fish has a worm that is long and squiggly like an "S" shape. I will try Prazipro and CureAll at the same time. Thanks!

Day two of using PraziPro in DT and the worm has not fallen off the Fire Fish yet. The Fire Fish is eating and swiming around fine at the moment. I will keep you updated.

Thanks!

Are you sure it's a worm and not some sort of growth? I would be tempted to do a f/w dip to see if that has any affect.
