Looking for a black A. polymnus

I've been trying to find another one in hopes of pairing it up to my female. I a little while back and they hit it off right away, but I fear it was consumed by the anemone as it was nowhere to be found the following day :( So, if anyone knows of an online retailer that has them available please let me know. Again, I'm looking for the black variant from N. Sulawesi.

Thanks much!

Yes it is.

Nope, that's the other variety of A. polymnus. Thanks for the attempt Naso!

i don't think that "thepetstop.com" is actually in business...I tried to e-mail and call a few weeks ago without any success. i'm looking for a pair of polymnus. "inlandaquatics.com" might have what you are looking for. if anyone has had success with thepetstop please let me know...thanks!

As far as I know this variant of clown has not been raised successfully in captivity, so Inland Aquatics wont do much much good. Thanks again to everyone though.

i do know that premium aquatics is supposed to be getting in hybrid sebae/polymnus called "white tips" from ORA this week. They're also trying to get the polymnus, but i'm guessing that's going to happen...

Peter, try InlandAquatics...i spoke with Josh and he said they have a few pairs that are A. Polymnus and are black...He did say that they are approx 1" for the males and 1 1/2" for the females, so not juvies...not sure if he'll split up the pairs, but worth a try...good luck

I had very bad experience with that vendor. I do not recommend them.

You're just one out of many though. I have heard others had good experiences with them...

55, which vendor are you talking about? premiumaquatics is great and i believe inlandaquatics is also very good...have you heard any positive about thepetstop? Marina, curious what kind of bad experience did you have?

thanks!

Andy

I was talking about this vendor and I believe MarinaP was too.

However this is irrelevent because Peter Eichler wants the other variety of A. Polymnus which that vendor I believe didn't have.

Peter, i'm curious, what are the 2 different variations of the black polymnus? i'm new to clowns and am trying to learn the differences, etc...trying to figure out where and what to get - looking for 2 pairs (of 2 different types of clowns) and really do like the few different black clowns.

thanks!

Andy

They're typically darker in color (they're usually more browish than the photo from Inland), have a complete middle band, and different markings on the face. Thanks for the heads up on Inland Aquatics.

Not sure if it helps ya much, but I saw a couple today at a Petland in the 'burbs of Chicago.
( and they were polymnus -- I had a pair of brown ones a couple of years ago )
