looking for a Black Longspine Urchin

Ted, why the urchin? Are you having corraline problems? I remember as a kid seeing urchins while diving for scallops. See you on Saturday.

John

Neg on the coralline. I picked up some Valonia somewhere ,and I want to nip it in the bud. Looking forward to Saturday my self.

Ted

Yes I did about a 60 gal water change, and everything is doing great. Very good PE,and everyone looks happy. Ted

Thanks Matt, but I have another problem, that I over looked before. I have a pink tail trigger in the tank, and he will eat anything that would eat the valonia. I will just have to do a better job of nutrient export. This is what John told me today. I know I need more flow, and I'm working on some Maxi Jet Mods. to do just that. I will change my socks twice a day,and do more water changes. I have a super skimmer, but I feed 5 times a day.
Ted

5 times a day?!? What are you keeping in there? I only feed my tank 1 or 2 times a day and I'm keeping Anthias...

I agree. 5 times is quite a bit!! Unless you are going bare bottom and over feeding for sps I dont know of a fish that would demand such a requirement.

ted nutrient export will not get rid of bubble algea. something has to eat it. it may slow it down but will never rid your tank of it in my opinion. maybe if you spend alot of time plucking it out piece by piece. your trigger will eat emerald crabs?

I have a valonia problem and the longspine urchin hasn't done squat. Frequent water and sock changes help some, but I'm mostly at "hand export" now. I'm trying an emerald crab next.
