looking for a container for a sump for a 215

I am either looking for a club donation/cheap deal or a commercial product that i could purchase realively cheap.

I am computer oriented and knowledgeable so I could barter with that :D

You'll want somewhere around a 55G sump or bigger to handle the overflow.

The only 'cheap' commercial products I'd use would be Brute trashcans or rubbermaid stock tanks for that kind of volume.

+1 on what Bill said, Rubbermaid stock tank is probably the cheapest, I don't know if it will fit in your stand though. I would use at least a 75 gallon, a 90 would be even better for a sump if using a glass tank, IMO. You may be able to find a used one or the sale is this week, you may be able to get a deal on a new 90gallon. I have seen some people use other plastic containers, but sometimes there can be issues of the plastic leaching chemicals and nutrients back into the water if you use something less than food grade types. Good luck.

Originally I was thinking maximum volume for the sump, but as Saltbox suggested and that I think about it, a 75 would be a better fit. A 90 may be too tall inside the stand to effectively access the sump for cleaning and maintenance, you probably couldn't take the skimmer out to clean it or it would be a major hassle possibly. Good luck.

Dalilgriffith I have a tank just sitting around I'm using to hold my rock which I need to transfer over and start cooking you might be able to use....the tank dimensions are 60"Lx24"Hx18"W. Let me know

Did you build the stand yourself or store bought? Is the back open on the stand? How is the top constructed??? Open or closed?
