I am currently looking for these items locally;

1- quick cure formaldehide in a black bottle

2- Tropic Marine Pro Coral Cure

3- Dog interceptor for red bugs.

I am setting up a quarantine tank for all new arrivals and was just getting some of the basic stuff.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I can usually hook up with interceptor. I have a ton of dogs and ALOT of vet friends.

Reef life gets in tmpcc every once in a while so check them or call and ask Pat when hes getting some.

PM me

I have a half bottle of tmptc I will sell it to you for half the price, I was not impressed with this product so I stopped using it, I can give you limited Interceptor maybe a couple of pills as it is al I have.
I have no idea what the formaldehide is? call me if you want to stop by

Just wondering what you didn't like about the Tmpcc? From what I know it is the only way to ride a coral of acropora eating flatworms. Please if you know a better dipping method that will get rid of flatworms let me know.

Formaldehide to my knowledge is used to treat fish with all of the following;

Fluke
Fungus
Parasites
ich
velvet

and a few other things.

Just thought I would have it on hand.

Thanks for the help

TMPCC isn't for flatworms. Fluke Tabs (easily available behind front counter at Big Al's) is the treatment for AEFW. TMPCC loosens them up and irritates/kills most critters. I think it even helps get rid of monti nudis.

Matt, I use Fluke tabs but be aware that neither of these products at recommended concentrations will actually kill AEFW, the just get irritated and usually fall off the coral, this together with a good soft toothbrush and strong light and magnifying glass will help you control the introduction of AEFW into your tank, but if your are not super careful you can still introduce their eggs.
The reason why I prefer the fluke tabs is because at higher concentrations it is completely safe with the corals specially with the Zooxanthellae in the coral flesh, thus allowing me to use a stronger dip solution that I could dip the corals for longer time with out any ill effects, this allows me to acclimate and dip at the same time.
With the use of iodine base solutions such as TMTPC the dipping time is critical (under 15 min) and the chances of overdosing or under dosing are greater, it also will kill zooxanthellae if misused this will almost guaranteed death to the coral or frag.

Good post
I use all of the above.
Inter(2-4) hrs depending on the mood lol- and yes I can get my hand on them pretty easy.-

Fluke tabs- just recently started using them in my dips-no ill effects - well I recently had a massive death off snails after one coral was dipped? BTW Roger my xenias are still alive
:blown:
TMPCC I've used it always-used to use lugols but have been using TMPCC w/o problems for 2 years. As long as u keep them dips short.

Yes I do stress my critters a lot prior to introducing them to my dispaly but since I dont QT.
Anyways I've had a bout 90% survival rate .
Good luck and I can get u some interceptor just let me know.

Okay, I got a little mixed up with the different treatments. So...

Tmpcc will make montipora eating nudis fall the coral when blasted with a powerhead.

I thought interceptor and fluke tabs were the same thing. One is for acropora eating flat worms and the other is for red bugs. Gotcha.

Thanks for all the help and advice.
