looking for a GOOD digital camera

So of the two that i listed can anyone prefer the better of the two. I think i am just going to go ahead and get the G7

I would go with the G7. I dont know about cameras, but I havent been ahppy with Sony's quality lately.

Well no, I dont have a second rebel. My first one was the original Rebel DSLR. I've since upgraded to the XTi.

I also was in the market for a camera, also on a budget. I would look at used and go with a DSLR.

I picked up a Canon Rebel 6.3 MP stock lens, 70-300MM macro lens, add on flash, 2 1GB memory cards, 2 filters, 2 batterys, all the factory stuff and some other things. I picked this up for 500 on criags list. I would just look for a good deal.

That 70-300 lens probably isn't a real good investment. Cheap isn't usually a good thing in the DSLR realm.

I checked Canons website and i even called them and still got the same response. No underwater case. Oh well.
