Anybody seen some locally?
A month ago I tried a divided-small one dropped her in and never saw her again after she buried in the sand:rolleyes: .Perhaps I need to add more than one and take my chances.
Anyways never kept one succesfully and want to try. Recently went away and had some casualties fish wise.
Need some new blood.

GMan...Try Reef's Edge. Got mine from them about three weeks ago. They've had some everytime I've been in there.

Great Question. Blue Star Leopard (also called the Divided, I just discovered). Mine looks just like the picture on Liveaquaria. Oh and the clam tank is doing great!! I'm all stocked up now.

That brain is pretty old, one of the first corals in the tank, here are some pics.

This picture was taken 12-17-04, pretty much the day after I purchased that coral

this pic is from 7-27-2005 the coral has been there for about 5 mths.

This pic was taken on one of two spawn events I have witness in the tank, this spawn event killed most of the fish from the first picture except a damsel and a purple tang which are still kicking it, if you look closely you can see the egg coming out of one of the mouths, the water turned very milky

This pic was taken on 12-25-05 this is when I first noticed that this coral had started to encrust in the rock.

Awesome, thanks for taking the time to humor me. In all honestly, when you posted the link to liveaquaria, I though it was their show tank or something. It never hit me it could be yours, truly awesome. Any ideas on the frequency of them spawning in captivity? That's the first instance I've heard of...

GMan, my Dad got a female for his tank at Barrier Reef in Boca for $9.99. I would have picked one up too, but had a mandrian at the time (RIP buddy...)

Yea, 3 small ones. BF's has some crazy deals sometimes. They had purple chromis (the one just like anthias') for $4.99 too.

I've been very lucky with my livestock everything seem to want to reproduce in my tank, I have had, 2 spawning events since this tank was first set up in late 2004, the second spawning event was less harmful to the fishes I was prepare with 100 g of water ready to do a water change.

Well well well. I have given up on this soker but finally after almost a month she's out and loving it.

I haven't seen any of those in several months. The african ones have been coming in lately (m bipartitus) but they are very hard to keep and just don't acclimate well compared to others in the same family. I've tried two and within a matter of days they were gone.

I did have long term success with a Potter's Wrasse - Macropharyngodon geoffroyi. But they are rather shy and I wouldn't mix them with other wrasses that are aggressive feeders.

Cheers,
Morgan
