hey guys and gals, i have a local fish store in the MD area that i can get matis shrimp from. they have them in the store all the time.

i do believe they all come from around the florida area and they range in colors. i have seen both smashers and spearers there and the best part is they only want $5 a piece for them.

so if there is anybody interested in getting one let me know.

I'm guessing, based on what is most common in the florida area, that it is mostly N. wennerae and P. ciliata with the occasional O havenensis, and N curacoensis. Just a guess

i am not sure if they ship but i will check into it. the best thing about it is they are only $5 a piece.

they have 1 more black w/ red legs and some other red markings

2 all green
2-3 brown with some purple and blue markings
1 green that is almost transparent with some light purple markings at the end of its tail and on is face.
1- tan and brown with really light almost pinkish strips

i think there may be a few more but i cant remember. i will try and snap some pictures of them this week for you. nobody really knows about this place and they catch all there own fish and dive for all there own rocks. they are only open to the public 1 day a week and all other days by apointment only.

i can identify 5 of them as.....

2 of them as Pseudosquilla ciliata
1 Neogonodactylus curacaoensis
2 of them as Odontodactylus havanensis

the rest i dont know.. wish i could tell more but i will let the pictures show what they are as i am not to famailer with all the species.

but they get them in weekly with there live rock shipments. the guy said they dont ever really sell them and most of the time they end up dying before they get sold and some times customers bring them in to them as they tell everybody they are bad for a reef tank.

thanks for pointing me in the right place. you just helped verify one of my new little friends :D

eww forgot to mention the size ranges from 1/2in to 1 1/2in

Wow, thanks for the info! I'd love to pick up a P.ciliata but Maryland is a bit far. Now if they shipped... hmm...

Where in MD is this place anyways?

in a town right outside baltimore, i cant remember the city name off the top of my head.

i also found out this company will ship so i will figure out a rough estament of about what it cost to ship with them and post up what i find out.
