I've had my pair for almost 4 years and they've never laid eggs. Am I just getting my hopes up or does it look like mama is looking for a place to drop? Click the image to watch the video.

She is doing something, but doesnt look like she is going to lay eggs. Both will pick/mouth at the rocks in the hours before laying. When they get close to laying, you will see their "parts" hanging out.

A few questions:
1. Wheres the male?
2. How warm is the water?
3. How many hours are the lights on?

Just out of curiosity, what is the optimal temperature? I keep my tank around 79.5 and my lights are on for about for 9 hours a day. I am going to slowly increase the photo period to about 12 hours a day.

Male is usually close by.

Water stays between 77 and 77.8

Running all LED's. Blue comes on at 7:00AM and goes off at 9:00PM. White lights are on from 9:00AM to 6:00PM.

Thanks, I think my clowns are still a little young to lay so I am just trying to fatten them up in the mean time.
