Looking for a skimmer for a 120 reef tank

Hello all I am looking to buy a used skimmer, it needs to be at least rated for a 150 or more. I am, if I cant find a good used one just going to buy a new ASM G4+. So bascially looking for one like the G4+ can be NO MORE than 28" high. Foot print doesnt really matter, please no crapy chipped or spider cracked skimmers please......


Please let me know what ya have and include a pic and price and location. Thanks all

Just so you know. The ASMs no longer come with an elbow attaching the pump to the skimmer inlet. The pump fits right into the skimmer hole and just kind of hangs there.

It works - just kinda strange. Therefore the water level in the sump needs to be higher than normal. It could be a problem for some people who don't have a large enough sump (in the event of a power outage).

Octopus NW-200?

Octopus NW-200?

I've been considering the octopus Needle Wheel (nw) 200 for my 180 gallon tank. I would think it would work well for a 120.

This site has them for $209.oo. A lot less than a ASM-G4 I would think.

On the ASMskimmers.com website they say that there now selling the Octopus, so I wonder if they just changed name or something like that. Thats pretty darn cheap for a skimmer for a 180!!

sorry mike but do yourself a favor and stay away from octopus. pos to say the least. john ordered one in cause he wanted to have a cheaper brand and it was a complete piece of junk. everything leaked and it just didn't perform very well. he had it in the store so call and ask him personally for his opinion. h &s makes some awesome skimmers but they are priced with euro reef. better pumps and everything.
