Looking for a Wye check valve used or cheap

I think its time I replace my always failing flap check valve with a real one. I need it in an 1-1/2 size . Does anyone have one they are not using, or know of a source to get one cheap? Amazon has one for $95 but that's a lil rich for my blood at the current time with a new born and a stay at home mom.

Will,
Now you know why check valves are not reccomended.
Leave it out, just make sure the sump can handle the drain down water.
One less thing to worry about!

Vinny, my problem is the reeflow return pump I have is above the water line so I need it to maintain prime in the event of a power failure. I guess the proper solution is to drill the tank, but I'm no expert and definitely don't have the equipment.

Will,
Drilling the sump is mind over matter.
I did a few holes with an old brass drill & a cutting slurry when I did maint.
No losses, just go slow, let the weight of the drill do the work, no pressure from the operator.
Glass Cages sells the diamond bits & bulkheads. There might even be a member that has the bit.

Just be sure the glass is not tempered as well. But I agree with eliminating the check valve from your system. Flood or failure waiting to happen.

Yeah I have read a lot on how to do it, and its easy for the people that have been successful to say its easy.

Its a 55g long tank that I have had at least 20 years, Im not sure if its tempered. Have to do the polarize test to see. As for the flood, Im glad the sump is in the basement. I think of the floods as automated water changes.
I have any bit you need.

Thats great, I have the bulk head. I just never had the guts to drill it. Ill measure it and see what size I need. Thanks

I drilled my first tank, which was an old 55 standard tank as well.
Half way through it imploded. Tempered glass for sure. I did my homework and purchased a non tempered 55g.drilled 2 holes without a problem.
Non tempered tank weighed at least twice as much as the tempered version. So if tank is easy to move, probably tempered.
