Hi everyone, new to saltwater life and our family has been working on a nano style tank for a bit and looking move into a larger tank. We are looking for something in the 47" up to 72" wide tank size. We are trying to keep the tank under 150 gallons We have been looking at the Red Sea Reefer 350 or 450 and the Innovative marine Nuvo SR-80 or SR-120, we were drawn to these as both as pre-package deals with most of the stuff you need to get going. Pretty much looking for a rimless / starphire glass / black stand tank. We have a total of 100 inches or so and it's a concrete slab.

Anyways, It would be great to get everyone input on what you all think about these two products and we are NOT locked into these two, so if you have any other products you think might work for us, please feel free to share! If you have a tank/stand that might work for us, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for anyone who share what they think and its much appreciated

I would talk to Neptune and get a custom CDA tank/stand n sump setup. They can also hook you up with whatever you'll need.

If you are tied to those 2 choices, I would go reefer and pick the 525xl. But it's only 59/22.6/22 making it 108g.

The SR series are beautiful tanks but having had an AIO tank, I wouldn't do 1 again if I could have a dumped system.

I used to own the IM SR80. Loved the tank, great build quality, and it worked for me since I lived in a upper unit of an apartment. I ended up selling it because I will be moving soon and wanted to downgrade to a smaller 50g SCA cube with a sump. I found with the SR80 you are limited to skimmers that would fit in the rear chambers. I used a Tunze 9004 skimmer that worked great, but it was very tough to clean for maintenance and the water level had to be perfect in order to work properly.

My next tank upgrade will be the White Reefer 250 due to the plug and play package. I've seen a few in person as well and have been impressed.

Hope that helps. Good luck with your next tank!
