Looking for frags

I just got back into reef keeping a little under a month ago. I'm looking for anyway that has frags in the under $20 range. I'm not looking for anything specific, just pieces to help fill out my 3 gallon nano (and eventual frag tank...haven't told the wife about this plan yet). I've got a small candy cane, several mushrooms, a few tiny featherdusters, and a few misc creatures that traveled in on rock.

My wife would prefer something in the red, blue, pink, or purple color spectrum, but I'm ok with anything that is reasonably priced and fairly simple to keep alive.

The closer to bellevue, brentwood, or franklin you are, the better. :)

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Chris!

To give you (and everyone else that hopefully will read this) a bit of background on myself, I'm a 25 year old software quality analyst living & working in Nashville. My wife (Claire) and I have been married just over 2 years now (yeah!). At age 15, I got my first job at a local family owned pet store about a half hour north of Pittsburgh, PA (the Seahorse). I worked there for 2 years, until I realized I could make about 20-30% more per hour working at a laser tag place. Unfortunately, at age 17 money won out. Shortly after switching jobs I ended my reef keeping experience. Fast forward 8 years and I'm back in the hobby. It took a bit of convincing my wife that it was a good move, seeing as how I'm already over loaded with work and our rental properties. But, persistence finally took her from dead set against a reef tank (even just 3 gallons) to he staring at the tank for 5+ minutes at a time trying to find all the new creatures on the live rock. I'm planning on setting up a frag tank in the coming months to grow out some corals with the hope of setting up a 30+ gallon some time next year.

Anyway, thanks for the welcome! Nice catch (in your picture)!

Thank you Jon:)

MTRC is a great club and an invaluable resource. You should be able to find what you are looking for;)

Hi Jon, Welcome to the forum and glad you are now back into reefkeeping. There is a meeting of the MTRC club this weekend in Murfreesboro if you can make it. It would be a great place to meet some folks and arrange for some frags, in fact I can fix you up with one or two myself, plus we usually have some to give to newbies at some meeting and do in fact have some for this meeting, so hope you can make it.

Thank Norman!

Would you mind emailing or PMing me the location of the meeting? I don't know of any plans for the weekend besides church on Sunday, so I certainly hope to be there. I noticed that the MTRC application and dues should be sent to you. Is it a problem if I bring the application and check to the meeting?

Thanks again,
Jon

Jon -

Welcome! I see you spent at least a little bit of time in PA. I'm from the eastern side of the state, about an hour west of Philly, and went to PSU for my undergrad...

Anyway, I'm moving and I'll be ripping down a 270 in the very near future, so I will have tons of stuff for sale that I just don't feel like dealing with in moving. Obviously, this stuff would fill a 3 gallon no problem :)

I also have some small frags in a frag tank that I could probably donate to the cause.

I'm pretty busy until after this weekend, but some time toward the end of next week you could stop over. I think we're going to the Memphis frag swap, so we'll be fragging stuff like crazy anyway.

Hey Brian,

Born and raised just a outside of Pittsburgh. I stayed there for about 20 years and then headed to Florida, Ohio, and now Nashville. We've been down here a little over a year now and except for my allergies, we love it!

I've got two toadstool coral frags arriving on Thursday and I'm going to see what I pick up on Saturday assuming I can make it to the meeting. So after that, I'll see how much more I can accommodate in the tank.

Thanks again!
