Hi all,

I am looking for a G. smithii

Perferably in the bay area. If not shipped would be fine.

Let me know!

Thanks

SH

You may be in luck. I've seen a few coming in during the past month. Octopus's Garden received one last week (it's gone now).

is this the species that looks very similar to odontodactylus scyllarus.? if so, a store has had one just down the street from my house for a few months now.

I know the OS quite well..... However I don't think that the smithii's are as colorful. In fact I am trying to find a good pic of a G.Smithii to send to Octupus Garden so that they can look out for one.

Does anyone have a good pic of the entire Smithii??

Also is there an easy way to identify a Smithii compared to a others (ie wennera??)

Thanks

Sh

yeah this little guy is not as opaque and solidly marked as the wennerae ive seen.

this one is about 2.5". green with some red and dark blues. its not an scyllarus. looks like a peacock, but much more subtle colors instead of distinct.

mmmm.. it could be. I have noticed from frontal shots that G.Smithii's have more color than Wennerae..

What store is it at?

Thanks

SH

its called animal house.

corvallis oregon. dale, the owner is calling it a peacock, but...i have my doubts.

Just wanted to update you, that the mantis I picked up from Atlantis was indeed a G. Smithii (ID'd him from Dr. Roy's pic on another thread).

Lucked out!!!!

He is happy in his PVC home in my 20 Gallon Flat Hex....
