Looking for mysis,

Hey Bill, how well do these guys survive in a refugeum and if they do, will they reproduce like pods?

I think they are in most reef tanks, I had them b4 I ans everyone else started using refugiums. just look at you tank at night in spots where there isn't much current.

I got a lot of life on the rock but maybe I'm mistaking these for something else, the ones on the frozen cubs appear to be almost 1" long, the biggest stuff I have on the rock and refugium, will be about 3/8" which are those things that look like sand flees.

this is what I have that looks close.
Are these it?

thats an amphipod. the mysis can often be seen in groups swim around randomly in a small area. picture a little ball of gnats flying around together.

Octavio,

That's an amphipod ;) Good to have and easier to raise than mysids. The mysids can survive and reproduce in a refugium, but they eat lots and are rather predatory, even eating each other. That's what makes the live ones rather expensive. Can't have them too dense to cut down on cannibalism.

Thank you for the picture olemos.

Yes that what I'm interested in, the Amphipod.

Great for the refuge and feeding the display.

Would anybody have those in their own tank for sale?

All you need is a wad of chaeto from someone who has an established tank. I am right on the commack border in smithtown if you want to come by, I have plenty to spare.
