Looking for some acrylic/fiber glass rods and weldon #16.

Hey guys my local hardware shop used to carry weldon #16, but they dont anymore.

Anyone have an extra can for sale local?

Also where can I buy 3/8 acrylic or fiberglass rods locally? Online?

I live in the San Fernando Valley.

Got a little freaked out but excited when I picked up the tank today...

Dimensions are 72x18x25.5....So you know I need some tall pillars up in there

I can pick up some for you tomorrow from Paragon Plastic (they are a few blocks from my Santa Ana office) if you want. Then you just have to drive to downtown LA to get it from me.

They also have 3/8" acrylic rod.

You can get these rods from Valley Plastics in Woodland Hills. (20934 Victory Bl.) they sell tons of scrap acrylics. You can also get the Weld-On#16 there.

FWIW, Rainbow Pet in Arleta also carries W.O.#16

Sam, there is a plastic and acrylic store down the street from where I live on Burbank blvd. They are open on Saturdays also.

An FYI on a recent find if you need to cut that plastic and have a table or mitre saw - Lowes carries a 10" 200 tooth 'firestorm' blade by B&D for $13.50. It is designed for clean cuts on light plywood but the tooth design is near identical to a plastic blade. I tried one out last night on some 1/4" acrylic and it made a smoother cut than the 120 tooth blade I have that was triple the price and designed for plastic. It was an almost polished edge with no metling, or chipping.

Got all the equipment...But to lazy to get it out of garage and set it up for cutting rods since they are way in the back right now due to remodeling... A hack saw can do the job.

I got a tube of #16 lying around. Probably will never use it. Yours if you drive to West LA. Just pass it forward.
