My tank might be featured in a certain magazine, and I need someone to help me take some legit photos. I have a canon t3i with the stock lens, but I honestly don't know how to use it. Would love to have someone that was really good at taking reef tank pictures come over and shoot my tank. Hopefully you can edit them. I was told I need to provide pictures that look sharp when viewed at 300dpi (ppi) at 3"x4".

If you know someone could you pass this thread on to them. Thanks guys!

You photos are not bad but if you bought a 100 ml macro lens you would see a huge improvement. That lens is a game changer

The issue is that the photos need to be print quality. They will be featured in a magazine.

I was actually looking at a Tamron 90mm macro for my canon. Find good deals on lenses on Amazon.

That is a great lens and one that I shoot with myself. I have compared it with 100mm lineup lenses and they are almost indistinguishable, especially to someone that doesn't know what they are looking for.

In a magazine print setting, this difference is not noticeable, so why spend an extra $700-$1,200 to get a 100mm lens?

You are a bit far for me if I remember correctly, but I have traveled pretty far in this hobby in order to photograph fellow members tanks anyways.

I've never asked for anything in return either ;)

Sry, I forgot to mention, the above shots posted by Noah are very, very nice. If he is close to you, i'd take him up on his offer. Very nice and sharp images and with the gear he listed, there should be no problem with resolution for magazine printing. You can easily get 6000x4000 workable images with that gear.
