looking to upgrade from 29 tall to 90 or 120. the wife has demanded a mandarin and some anthias. if possible an emperor (not happening too small)....

how much bioload (fish) should i put as a maximum on each of these tanks.

Assume over qualified skimmer, live rock and sump with refuge.

thanks,

I'd recommend at least 100. Math is easier for one thing. Srsly, it's not how many, it's how large adult size and what habits. Suggestions: if corals, no angels. If no corals, smalll angel. Maybe jawfish. Blenny, goby, 3-5 chromis, basslet type, ---avoid dottybacks: cunning and prone to nip. Maybe fairy wrasse. Depends: for a fish the size of a mandy, you'll be sitting in front of your tank at close range, observing, and having a lot of smaller fishes will be more entertaining than one larger fish who will come and go, especially in a 'long' tank. With smaller fish in a large tank, you have constant action.
