Looking for sub-compact/compact with full manual controls.

I bought the casio z-850 based on decent reviews, but after trying it for a couple months now I'm ready to get rid of it. It has too many issues focusing on macro settings unless you take it off manual in which case it wants to push the iso up to 200 which yields noisy pics. I'd like something that is somewhat pocketable but still does a decent job. So I'm looking for owners that like they're small cameras, and haven't been too frustrated trying to get good shots of the aquariums. Thanks.

I have a Canon a75 and just love it. Full manual control.
I saw the a530 at compusa for $149 and almost grabbed it just for the heck of it, but am thinking of stepping up to a DLSR or maybe the a640 so I held off.
I just got an a80 from ebay for $45 and an a70 for $25 to use in the hostile everglades, so consider that route.
