looking for sump and skimmer

Hi everyone. Anyone selling a sump and or skimmer? I need these items for my 75 gallon long tank. The sump needs to be in the area of 30x12x17 or so. As for skimmers I'm open to any good ones but am looking specifically for one to put in my sump that is rated for @ 125-150 gallons.

If anyone is selling anything like these items please message me. Thanks.

Cozen,

I think we may have a sump that would fit your space constraints. It is 20" long, 13 1/4" wide and 18 1/4" tall. The water flow is U shaped, in that the sump is separated into 3 compartments. It is a CPR IY194 : http://www.cpraquatic.com/products/cyclone.html (Minus the 2 Rio pump that comes stock). It is rated for a 100g tank. All of our other sumps are too big for your needed area. There is a FS thread around here somewhere, but I have not searched for it.. i think that we were asking $50. There were several people interested in it, but all wanted us to ship it, and I really prefer not to ship sumps :).

We also have an old ER 8-3 skimmer that I am in the midst of repairing to sell (the elbo coming out of the skimmer body for the drain/return broke off.. an all too common problem with the ERs). It was 6 months old when it was taken out of service, that was some time ago, but I just never got around to repairing it. It is a relatively easy repair job, that I have seen done on several other ERs, it is just a matter of my getting to it. But that skiimer is over rated for your tank, IIRC, and it also dont think that it would fit into the sump space that you described, unless it is a single compartment sump.

sparkss, thanks for the heads up. I forgot to mention I'm looking for a sump to house my skimmer and a refugium. I guess I put the post up in a hurry and I missed that somehow.

As for the skimmer how big is it and what is it rated for? And what are you selling it for? What part is needed to repair it?

Some acrylic work is needed to repair the 90 that broke off the body. I was planning to take several thin sheets of acrylic, cut to size, and wrap them around the body of the skimmer, weldon'ing them into place. When I am done that area should be several times stronger than the original. I did pull the Sedra out yesterday and threw it into a bucket... darned pump was only 6 months old when I "stored" it.. I am letting it soak overnight. Worse case I will just pick up one of those Eheim NW pumps or an Ocean Runner.

Here is what I found on the 8-3 :

8-3 - 8 in diameter | 30 in tall | Ideal for up to 175 gal | 11" x 13½" footprint | 1 x 5000 Sedra pumps

Ours is already setup as a recirculating skimmer.

But I still need to do some work on it before it is ready to sell, unless you are a major DIYer ? :)

No, I'm not a major diy'er. Although I did just build a stand yesterday. Came out pretty nice. But back to the skimmer.....I think it's too big to fot under mys tand. My stand is only 31" high so I don't think it would work. Thanks tho.

I have this little sump. Will it work?

elite that sump might actually work. Depending on the size of the skimmer section. What is the size of the individual chamber? The side with the 2 baffles, is that a bubble trap? How much are you asking?

actually now that I look again at the pictures, I see it's just under 9 inches. Hmmm, the skimmer I'm looking at has a footprint of 9x10. I might be able to cut out the acrylic and rework some of the baffles. Let me know how much you want for it. Thanks.

Hi Tom
I maybe interested in the skimmer if Cozen89 does not want it.I sould be able to repair it myself.I need a skimmer for my tank move. How much do you want?

elite, do you think that 3.5inch is big enough for a return pump. Probably something like a mag 9? And do you think it would get all messed up if I tried to cut out the baffles and move them elsewhere?
