my wife wants this fish! what is it, The pic was taken in mexico(xcaret park)about 60 miles south of cancun...Thanks

The fish in the picture is the Atlantic Blue Tang, Acanthurus coeruleus. They get big (a little over 15"), have a big apetite for veggies, and need a very big tank.

It's a tang, which you probably knew. I searched 2 tang id sites, and didn't find it...but like wrasses, tangs can have a juvenile coloration that can make id more difficult.

Ah! Well, I was on as far as the acanthurus part, at least by guess. Certainly a beautiful fish.

most def a adult atlantic blue tang. As juvenilles they are yellow.

Here is mine as a baby when I first got it 6 mths ago. Plan on keeping him awhile and put him in a 180 next yr as the 90 will not hold him long. Great fish and there is another thread about them.
