Looking into breeding clowns

I'm new to the hobby and one of my goals is to set up a tank and breed clowns.

What size tank should i get?

What other accessories need to be with it?

I would like anyone who has been successful in doing this to please guide me.

Thanks

To start do you have a breeding pair? Get the book "Clownfishes" by Joyce D Wilkerson there is way too much info needed to be successful for someone to just type it out for you.

Joyce wilkersons book is good and a definitefishes must read but for breeding clownfishes I think you should definately read frank Hoff's book, called "conditioning, spawning and rearing of fish with emphasis on marine clownfish."

clownfish breeding is definitely worth it. What species were you interested in breeding?

a 55 would be fine but if all you want to do is breed them than you could probably go with a smaller tank. granted, you will be needing more than one tank to do this.

I would definately do lots of research. but being that you don't have your clowns yet, you can set the tank up and within a while they should breed and you will know enough about them and will be ready.

You can breed Percs in a 15g and they will be quite happy. 55G is overkill for 2 Percs for sure. Keep in mind if you are going to breed. The time to grow out true percs is much longer than Ocellaris.
