looking locally for a hungry lawnmower blenny

A lot of people add lawnmower type Blennies to a new aquarium to eat hair algae and the blenny starves to death after their "lawn" is "mowed".
If you have a skinny lawnmower that needs a lawn to mow I'd be happy to provide it with some food. :)

Gary, you might be better off with a Sea Hare. My Lawnmower seems to only eat Diatoms.

All the Lwnmowers I've ever had ate Bryopsis as well as Diatoms.
Apparently a Sea Hare would work as well.
Anybody got a hungry 'Hare?

Dang!

I've only ever had the one Lawnmower. Guess I'd better tell him to get on the ball.

We are doing an order in a week or so, you could get in on the order. I think they are about $25ish.

Thanks for the offer, Guy.
I took the advice and found someone that had a "Hare" to spare- and I really want to see what this thing is capable of.
One thing about a Sea Hare that I've noticed after 24 hours of owning one- it's an artist at disappearing. I plopped a big 'Hare (6") in the tank and there's not many spots for it to hide... but I can't find it for the life of me.
I've been looking for it since this morning and it blends in so well I might be staring at it and not even know it.

If the hare turns out to be a tortoise at eating HA I'll take you up on the Blenny. Thanks!

Has anyone ever tried a Lettuce slug? Would they work for HA? I too have some HA that I have been working to get rid of with no luck!!! Was considering a Lawnmower Blenny but I heard they can be hit and miss. Was also worried about a Sea Hare as I heard they can be dangerous to the tank if they get stressed out.

What would be my other options?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Greg

Gary, well I currently have 7 Astrea's left and 3 Turbo's but they don't seem to go after the HA. Should I try moving them from the glass to the rock and see if that sparks their interest? Thanks for the help.

Greg

You can try it. Some snails will go back to the glass no matter what. I used to work with a guy named Greg that we called "Cap"- that's why I wondered if you were really a milkman!

FWIW Since I still can't find it I have a bounty out on my Sea Hare.
First person that spots it gets a buck- but all homework must be done first!

my lmb is named homer simpson- wifey thinks he looks like him and w. his beer gut(algae) I do agree!-& the way my tank is looking he won't run out of the all you can eat salad bar anytime soon.plus he will eat pellets- did for the whole time I had him and other fish out of reef for a copper treatment(ich)

on a side not I trained my manderin too although he has since gone back to fluttering around for dilish pods!

let us now how the hare works out would ya?
