looking to be a first time anemone owner

I have 2 Amphiprion ocellaris clowns and was looking at getting an anemone for them. Currently I have a 20 gallon tank with 2 X 24 watt t 5s on it. I was looking at upgrading to a 4 X 24 watt T5 fixture. Was wondering if this light would be sufficient and if so what would be a good species of anemone to get that is both hardy and that the clowns would have a high probability of hosting in? This would be the first time that I have kept an anemone so any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should definitely upgrade to a 4 x 24w T-5 light. A bubble tip anemone would be your best bet.

FYI, the nem may get up to 18 inches wide, but so will most any other hosting anemone.

I am in the same boat and am waiting on a 4xt5 set upfor my 20G. I have been really nervous about getting one too. Where would the best place to set it, and how long do you suggest to acclimate it? Do you have to manually feed it?

Definitely go with a BTA. +1 on the suggestion that you might want to upgrade the lighting first.

Do remember that these guys get huge.

Here is the anemone tank at the place I volunteer at. These are BTA's. I think that lil clown is a 1" or 1.5" for size comparison. It will take over your 20g tank!

They are even bigger than this now. It's a 4ft 120g tank.
