Im in Columbia Tenn and im looking to buy live rock if anyone is breaking down a tank or selling any...i can pick up

i order mine online from http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=Liverock there cheaper then anywhere around our area including shipping . animal love pet store here in columbia use to have awsome live rock but they dont have anything to good anymore and its 7.99 or 8.99 so i just order from the link i put up since there pretty close and you can get away with just priority mail shipping. they will try to get you to ship it ups which is almost double the shipping cost and ships in the same amount of time so i just tell them i want it shipped usps priority mail. it comes up to around $10 for shipping for up to around $100 worth of rock and they dont have a minimum amount of rock you have to buy. i order 5 pounds at a time for my nanos and it comes out alot cheaper then anywhere around here and its better rock.how much are you looking to buy anyways?

yea and franklin pet store here in columbia is the only one ill go to now and there not even all that good but alot cleaner. there live rock is 7.99 a lb and looks like my base rock that i get. is there any pet stores around your area angela? and where do you get your rock from angela?

I got around 150lbs fully covered. Im bout to tear down my 75. Ill sell it off for 5.00lb When i take the tank down.

I probably got about 30 lbs from animal love over the last 2 years peice by peice as needed. 50 for $3 from a guy selling out way back when, some highrock from waynsworld for about $1 a lb, another 50 from a gal selling out for a frag of everything in my tank, 100 from a guy in chatty for $2 a lb then another 50 from a gal in chatty for $1 a lb but it does have aptasia and FW's and those floaty hydroid things on the glass I am working on. All said I have about 350 lbs of rock in my tank with some home made stuff for a little of nothing. (as far as rock goes!) You have to be paitent and wait on a deal and I had collected for awhile knowing I was getting a big tank one day. You can't tell the highrock from real LR after ist been in awhile.

FWIW I have seen good posts about premium aquatics rock for the price. I hate pet love has went up so high on there rock, I loved to go pick through there tank.

i use to have some really nice rock from pet love. about 90% caroline algae covered and i would do the same, buy a little at a time if i seen some nice shaped pieces. i have some homemade agrocrete sitting on my backporch for when i set up a bigger tank. ill just add some live to it like you said and save some money.

how much should you have for a 72? i dont really want a very ellaborate display like some im seeing....so would 50-75lbs be allright?

Here is a pic of my 80 bowfront with right at 100 lbs and its stacked totally not touching the back wall or sides. Just to get a idea but different varieties can weigh more or less depending on how dence it is. Most mine is figi and a little tonga.

This is before coral. I took out the big grey home made job in the end you see.

The last shot is showing right at 90-100 lbs and as you can see if you stack good and give stuff time it will fill in the bare spots. Hope this helps :)
