Im wanting to build a tank 72" x 18" x 17" tall, it comes out to right at 100 gallons. I need approx 37 sf of 3/8" or a 5' x 8' sheet. I dont know where to get any locally. Any ideas? Shipping is so expensive so i wanna be able to pick it up myself. Or i may wanna buy a tank if there is one that has those dimensions.

To RC and Comas

Do you have current tanks

Im sorry, i would like acrylic but i would probably do glass, i just dont know if i would need bracing or how to brace it for that length. I am willing to learn tho

I do have a 55 g cichlid tank and a 30 g that im gonna put some community freshwater fish in. I want a bigger tank to move my cichlids into, and when i finish that i want to make the 55 into my first attempt at saltwater.

I've built tanks from both and acrylic is easier for me but glass is cheaper. I will help you build it if you want help. The beat place to get acrylic is Eaton quade in okc and glass is glass masters.

just remember for acrylic your measurments per sheet is not their measurments per sheet because they need to clean up the edges,my build was designed on 1 four by eight sheet and i ended up using about another quarter sheet

I appreciate all the help from everyone. I will def let you know if I need any help and i will post pics as i go when i start. Thank you

I do have a 55 g cichlid tank...

love those cichlids, which type do you keep? african? s. american?
just curious as I'm plannin' a 220g s. american after my sw project if completed. lot's of fw keepers between COMAS and OMAS as well.

Ive had no luck in buying a tank, so i guess i will be looking around for materials to build one. I may even look into building a plywood tank, ive senn a bunch of them and some look pretty good.
