Lookout's new adventure

Thanks. I am still unsure. It gives a lot of places for the fish to swim through; It also has a lot of places for sps. But there are not many hiding places. Maybe in the back corner I will add some more rock and make more places for the fish to hide.

Got 24 out of the 25 drivers to work, one is bad, I am getting 120v at the drive and I am getting my pwm signal to the driver but I am getting no output. I will have to call and see if they will replace/repair it for me. I got all the pwm mapped out to each output. Now I need to map each relay to each light. I will also turn them down from 12v to 11v and set them to 2amp.

Wonderful thread!
Love the rock... Don't worry about the fish... They'll find spots to hide in you never imaged existed... Mostly when you want to get a photo!

Got some stuff done. All relays, and pwm ports are mapped out. All voltage and current is set on all 25 drivers. Also mounted the control box. Just need to run the wires.

I dont know how you did it but you did. I would have lost my mind, body, soul, and hair accomplishing what you did. You also have the luxury of checking the electrical ouput if something goes wrong and your laundry at the same time.

Oh yea.. I also made a pita mistake. When I put all the Molex ends on I used the female wire ends and the female plug.. well that is wrong. I have to switch 170 wires :headwally:, you would think this would be easy but getting the little metal clips out of the plug is a PAIN! You have to use 2 needles in just the right place then pull the wire. I did do 28 pins and got one light turned on. Tank looks so much better with light. Will post pictures with the light on later.

Have 2 pendants wired and working, 3 more to go. Those 2 pendants light up 1/2 my house. I think I am going to install the optics. USB extension cable should be here today or tomorrow so I can hook the webcam up permanently.

Love the webcam... Where exactly is it aimed? I see a lot of rock and a tuft of something. Then, there is that massive intake?... I think. Maybe you could put up a map for the uninitiated. As in.... this is the ... edge of the tank near these pieces of rocks. Keep up the great work!

Thanks you!, I will put up a map soon. The problem is the camera is not a wide angle camera. It is in the front left of the tank facing the back right. Due to the camera not being a wide angle camera, it does not show much of the tank. I will see if I can turn it some to make it a little better. I am looking at the "Genius 120-degree Ultra Wide Angle Full HD Conference Webcam (WideCam F100) " but it has mixed reviews. The current camera is 78 Deg. view. so 120 would be a lot better.

I have not read the whole post yet, but because you used many small driver can use a few big like this

A very good project congratulations

regards

Thanks for your reply. Yes I could have used a lot less drivers. But where would the fun be in that :lol2:. Really I just wanted the control. I want to be able to control each led. I still have room in the system for one more led on each pendant. I was thinking another type of blue. I am already running the wires for the extra light; I already have the extra PWM control setup on the PCB, All I would need is the driver and the led.

I move the webcam, Is that a better view?

I also put some sand from my old tank into the new one to hopefully help the cycle. I think once I can take down the old tank, It will make this tank look so much better with all the room around it.
