Looks like I wasn't on Santa's naughty list :)

Cool Wayne love the two new fishes. Nice to have them personally brought to you.
I always liked going to the distributors and picking on my fish you just have them come to you.:)

Wow ...even they delivery a seagent major I would accept with no further question... Really glad to see that you have not just an amazing fish collection but you are part of our fish hobby history... Any insight from the visitors ? Thank you for sharing !

lol...thank you...me too. They were too cute to resist. I think I've pretty much got all the fish I've been hunting for. I've got three qt tanks running now and have no more room! Once I get all these guys in my dt, it's going on lockdown. I don't think my dt can fit anymore fish anyway.

nice!

OK guys, so what was even more spectacular than receiving these two fish today was the person who delivered them...

Two huge legends in the industry...Koji-san and for you old school reefers - Leng Sy of the Leng Sy cap fame. This completely blew my mind, but basically, I randomly emailed Blue Harbor a few weeks ago to inquire about a few fish and Koji let me know that he was planning to a trip to LA. After working through my local channels...long story short, he actually asked to see my tank and he brought along Leng Sy to boot! I spent the afternoon with them and I couldn't have asked for a more spectacular Christmas present. This made not only my 2013, but 2014 too!

too cool...:bounce2::celeb3::bounce1:when I got my tiny interrupta from him I asked him to autograph it...I am such a nerd but it's way cool to meet these guys...on fb I posted about how when I was a kid growing up my friends and family knew all my idols and heroes by their first names and then named a few...lol, today the same holds true but the names have changed to Koji, Kevin, Karen, Rufus, Ching, Copps, Julian, Tony, Greene, Wen...just an amazing group of people who have all radically changed the hobby...

I'm a total geek like you Ted. I was trying to convey to my wife who was coming to our house and the magnitude of it. I told her it was like Chef Morimoto stopping by our house to taste her cooking and hang out with her to talk shop while on the way to Nobu. She was like 'whoah'. I was like 'yeah'.

lol...so true...

Congrats Wayne!
On both the fish and the visitors!
Truly an awesome Christmas for you!!:spin1:

Thank you Karen :) This still doesn't let you off the hook though. I'm still waiting for my CB pair of Interrupta from you too ;)

Yes! We actually had dinner together and I felt bad pestering him the entire time. We talked a lot of the Peppermint angels. He said he felt they did better in natural seawater. Also, I asked him how come in the videos you see so many relatively large shrimp swimming around. They seemed too big to be food. He said that they served dual purposes. The first is since they heavily feed the tank, the shrimp were a cleanup crew of sorts. Secondly, they produce a lot of eggs and hatchlings which in turn are food for the peps. I found that to be fascinating!

He also told me not to feel bad about not getting my baby Conspic to eat. He said he has trouble getting even adult Conspics to eat and also adult Maze angels to eat too.

He also talked about his personal collection process for the Interrupta. He doesn't think they'll be many collected this year because the winter has been pretty stormy and the seas are relatively rough.

Anyway, there's so much more...I really was appreciative of the time he afforded to me and my questions!

Wayne, I tried to go cold turkey too right after the wife got suspicious when she saw my two interrupta in my "temporary" 90G QT tank. (Yes, honey, umm, that's just a regional Potters variant... $20 max...) Like all addictions, it's hard to put a fail safe lid on it LOL. Digiman has become the devil on my shoulder with that recent video at Koji's. I'm on the hunt for a harem of Squirei now. :ape:

Incredible! Not only the perfect presents, but dinner with Santa Claus!

Probably more than a few geeks out here that eat this stuff up. I love the celebrity chef analogy. That's the way I have to explain it too.

Happy New Year!

Mark

Wayne, Humaguy, what are you feeding these really small angels on? Once they're an inch and fat they're pretty straightforward but recently I've seen some really small angels in the trade. I have a similarly small regal I've picked up and I am concerned to get her up to a reasonable size.

I use LRF, pe Mysis- that I mince once it has defrosted, spri brine, fresh clams/shrimp, nori, and some angels mixes...

I've never had a problem to get my baby Interrupta to eat, my baby Clarion too. They eat basically anything I throw in the tank. The Conspiculatus was a different story. It didn't try anything I tried to feed it and I put everything under the sun in it's tank. I've been told though that Conspics are initially difficult feeders. Sorry, but I don't have any experience with Regals though.

OK, all the super small regal (12mm?) will eat floating is small mysis and brine. I'd like to get her onto something really nutritionally dense. On the up she's in with 10 kilos of rock and attached to a refugium.
Do you guys ever use a dither fish to teach the other fish to eat?
