LooseHip's 40 breeder SPS build

The tank looks awesome Derrick!!

I had the opportunity to see the tank last nught in person and must say the pics don't do it justice, its looks really nice in person.

Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!!

lots of progress on my build to date. hope to have the last of the tanks plumbed into the system tonight and i'll update my thread this w/e if at all possible.

I plan to do weekly water changes of 10-15 gallons..

how exactly are you planning to do this? is that brute a sw or ro/di reservoir? have you plumbed this at all or will it be a bucket brigade? just hoping for more ideas to steal ;)..

The brute is R\O only at this point. For now I will be mixing sw in a 10 gallon tank, so it will be somewhat of a bucket brigade. Sooner or later I will plumb it in a way that automates sw mixing and water changes.. Also, I still need to plumb in an auto topoff but will probably wait until I get the doser to do that stage.

Sus has his R/O and saltwater mixing station setup in a fashion you are referring to. You should PM him for details.

Look forward to seeing the new pics of your setup!

Awesome aquascape! Love the openess.

Thanks guys... Guess I got lucky this go around. I normally spend hours trying to make rockscape look cool, and just end up making it look worse.. I think I spent 20 mins this go around, and it came out looking OK. I really like the open look and that is what I was going for.

Jealous...??? Nah your setup is pretty darn sweet if I do say so myself!! Thanks for all your help also, I appreciate it!

Looks great.
If you start to have any rust on those conduit clamps you're using to route the wires, Home Depot carries pvc conduit clamps that would work good.

One minor update, I cut out a piece of acrylic to cover my overflow. I was getting a lot of splashing, and didn't want it to ruin the wall it is next to..

Your set up looks great. The way you did your rockwork really makes it look much larger than it is. Very cool!!!!

Thanks man
