Losing a Clown...

I've had a pair of clown fish that spawned regularly for the past 3 years but unfortunately I woke up this morning to feed the tank and one is missing. I've looked everywhere and can't find him/her, so assuming it's a goner.

I'm really bummed out... but there is nothing I can do but move on.

My question is what do I do now? Can I add another one? Should I? Decisions, decisions...

RIP Clown, you will be missed.

Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully the clown is just in the overflow or sump. If not then getting a smaller clown would be a safer bet.

That's a bummer, sure hope it turns up for you, and agree we usually replace w/ a smaller clown than your existing.
I lost my pair after more than 5 years, know the feeling.

Before adding a new one I would first do another thorough search inside and around the tank. Fish usually don't disappear without a trace overnight.

BTW, which one is missing, the male or the female?

Check your sump and overflow, also if you don't have a lid, check to make sure you don't have a Clown potato chip on the floor somewhere. I've had Clowns think they were Nemo and jump for freedom, only to find there isn't any water outside their tank.
