Losing my Tank - and My Mind

I can't even to guess how many magnets I have in my system....
Is there some sort of rule of thumb regarding how often to replace them?

No rule that I know of. Just do regular maintenance and while doing your maintenance periodically check magnets and any metal parts for signs of corrosion.

Yea... it crashed. After my last post, the cloudiness was followed by a long, steady die off of coral and anemones. After 2 poly pads and about 400 gallons of water changes, it wasn't abating, so I decided to separate my sump and use it as a quarantine for the surviving coral. Well, apparently the oxygen content was already low, so without the skimmer or the overflow to the sump adding bubbles, the level dropped and all my fish died overnight.

Long story short, my tank is dead except for some soft corals. The survivors in the sump are a blue hippo, my magnifica and 2 clowns, and maybe 3 hard corals. Bad times to be sure...

Brad - really sorry to hear things went bad on you. When things settle down let me know if you need help restocking.

Sorry to hear this Brad. I have a lot of your corals from when we traded. When you get the system back up and going you have my number or if you lost it just shoot me a PM.

I'm sorry to hear this. It'd be bad enough if it all went to pot while it was in its period of neglect. But the fact that it happened when you were trying to get everything back in line is even worse.
And it always gets to me when these kind of things happen to the seasoned vets. If it can happen to those who know what they're doing, it just reminds me it's that much more likely to happen to me (with less experience).
Hope it doesn't take the wind out of your sails.
LMK if there's anything I can do to help.
