Lost A Rubber Band - should I worry?

Likey the bikey
I feel dumb asking this...I lost a rubber band somewhere in my tank when one of my tangs ran off with a nori rock. Is it worth dismantling rockwork to get it out? What are the long term ramifications of leaving it?

Did that couple of times, especially those small rubber band used to tie up the fish bags. Never noticed any issues.

I put one around a green star polyp to hold it to the rock about 3 months ago. Well, i completely forgot to remove the band after the gsp had attached to the rock, but i guess it doesnt matter now...the gsp has completely overgrown the band and i cant even see it now lol. I'd have to take off the gsp just to get at it, which i dont think i really wanna do.

but no problems for me

My tangs ate a rubber band and kept on pooping it out and then eating it.

I would always see them with a rubber band hanging out of them. I did get it out.

I've never left a rubber band in the tank for more than a few weeks. Thanks for the input. I just located it after an intense search with a flashlight. There is no way I could pull it out without significant effort. I guess I'll leave it.

PatrickJ...LOL. My tangs impress me daily with their intelligence but they are somehow as dumb as a box of rocks at the same time!

Don't sweat the petty things ... and well, don't pet the sweaty things. Having said that, worry not my friend, I've lost several fish and peppermint shrimps in my tank of which I have never been able to find even a trace. :p Not to mention having lost thousands and thousands of my hard earned dollars
