Lost my female black perc.

Well I lost my female black perc. I am not really sure why. She was fine yesterday and this morning. About 3 hrs ago she stated swimming weird. Her head was towards the top of the tank and was kind of just going with the flow of the water. Then all of a sudden she died.

I am not sure what to do, I am in Lubbock, and it’s just about impossible to get another 1 at a LFS. I can’t order 1 right now b/c I can’t afford the shipping.

Should I place my true perc in the tank to keep the male black clown a male while I wait to order another clown? Just so that I would be easier to introduce another black clown even if it was a female? I already know the true perc is dominant over it b/c I had to put it in the tank for a couple hours once.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Kyle

It won't really hurt to let it change to a female will it? Most the fish I've ever seen for sale have all been so small that they haven't even chosen a sex yet. Or you could just pair them up. Guess it's kind of what you feel like doing. Sorry you lost your clown tho. :(

sorry for your loss, but in my experience it has been harder to find a true female than a male. I personally would let the male become female and then buy a juv. and let it become male. Thats what I have kinda did. my female ocellaris jumped and died and I have let my male become female. Any yet I have not purchased another clown, it is easier for me to pair it with a juv. Goodluck
