I have a Kenya tree that has two branches. both were a tanish brown color. today one of the branches went to a purplish grey color. The other branch is still the same color as before, but it looks like it might turn to the same purplish grey color, the little polyps on the grey side seem to be closed like they do when the lights go out for the night. PO4 is .0000, phosphates were checked during chemical analysis at the local college's water chemistry lab. nitrite, nitrates also 0.000. Other parameters normal acceptable ranges. Any ideas what is going on. I run 54 watt T5's half daylight the other actinic blues.

It's possbile your water is too clean for the leathers. They generally like the water a little dirtier. Keep in mind, no corals can live with true 0 values for N and P.

Also, you might get more responses in another forum since this is the SPS forum.

ok thanks will try another forum, I try to keep the water dirty. I think I might over feed and do not run a protein skimmer.
