Lost two clownfish - skin peeling off

I lost my two clownfish this week. Their skin began peeling off and they died quite quickly. I've done some research - maybe Brooks?

The funny thing is that I haven't added anything to the tank (fish or corals) for quite a while. I haven't added fish for several months. I had these clownfish since probably August of last year. Can the disease lay dormant like that?

I did have an ATO pump malfunction, which dumped a bunch of freshwater and lowered the salinity quite a bit. I'm sure that was a stressful event - could that have done it?

Other fish (flame hawk, mystery wrasse, chromis, hogfish) are doing perfectly fine, showing no signs of anything.

I'd like to add another pair of clowns soon. Any ideas?

Brook is a funny disease. I've seen cases where it seemingly lays dormant and then flares back up. Case in point: A lady I helped one time had a pair of clowns with brook. She gave them both a formalin bath and then put them right back in her nano reef (against my better judgement). Everything was fine until after a year later when she moved the nano reef and brook flared back up on the clowns. Another formalin bath, no fallow period and it's been almost 2 years now with no recurrence. :uhoh3:

Brook can also come in on a coral/invert which has not been isolated from fish. So, that's another possibility.
