Lots of water, or What the heck are you thinking

You should go take a peek, there is even a video of it in action.

it's the water fall design. Very cool, but I think it's going to evaporate a lot of water.[

I am tagging along..i just redid my sump and fuge because tired of the detris@#%$ building up in the fuge. It was a pain to get too at the height.. This is a old thread..cool i like the oldies...

Finally have the addition for the girls rooms done and all the major items off the "honey do" list.

I get to start this for real this weekend.

So this on again off again project is on again. lol if I ever get this damn thing done it's going to be a miracle.

I need ideas for heating the large tanks, if any one has any I would really appreciate hearing them. The filtration shed will have heating in the winter but I doubt I will keep it very warm to cut down on energy costs. I'm hoping to keep the water at 80 in the large tanks.

got the old 280 out of storage and have it in place. I have a lot of work to do in my little corner but I needed some motivation.

If you look out the window above the aquarium you can see the bottom of the shed.

The addition. I had the contractor do the outside. I did the inside stuff.

The shed was done last fall but I had to finish the kids room and then it was too cold to work out there.

You know what they say about junk expanding to the space available, so I need to clean that shed out before I can start work in there. That's todays project.

Man three years I have been planning this thing. It's nice to be working on it again.

Thanks,

just came in. I put the reflectors in and got the shed cleared out and some insulation up. nothing really to write home about but it's something.

I'm hoping to hang the cross bars next weekend for the tubs. There's only going to be a few receptacles in there. Wiring won't take too long.

Weird, my last post did not save.

Anyhow I have a lot of the insulation in and wiring started.

I have a buddy who is a mechanical engineer who is going to supply the cross bars for the Rubbermaid tubs coming over tomorrow.

I was hoping to get those in this weekend, but he tells ne his workload it pretty tough. It's been three years I guess I can wait another week.

Other than insulation and electrical boxes there's not much to see.

I don't think that the light tunnels are really putting out that much light. I don't know maybe once I have the tubs up and the diffusers on it will look like more. Worse case they're just going to let me see better in the day I guess.

No post since 2009?:thumbdown
What happened this looked to be a great build thread!

Hi,

It had to go on the back burner while we wait for the economy to pick back up. All is well with us and we do thank the Big Guy for that. But I am going to have to put a good deal of money into this to see it through and right now that would not be prudent.

It will get done, but in its time.

Thanks for your interest, it makes me want to get it done even more knowing people are still watching.

do you have any pictures of your equipment?
i just scanned through, and you mention your skimmers and such, but never any pictures. (i like equipment info more then actual Full Tank Shots..)

and dont give up hope! there will be a time!
