seriousreefer91, what kind of setup do you have for the HOB filter? Do you water change every week? I have found that my 10 g needs water changes once a week to keep everything looking great, even with skimmer. Did it take 3 years for the tank to be able to be self sufficient?

Thanks, interested in your experience and thanks for posting pictures

it took me 1+ years to have enough bacteria on my live rocks, and my hang-on filter has sera biofibre, and a single liverock, and carbon.so far so good,i'll update soon,my 3 new purple acros will arrive tom.,hehe, only 2 dollars each here in the philippines,it's already a colony.and my other corals usually costs me 1 dollar and below.and liverock is only 1 dollar for 3 kilos.i do water change bimonthly only, but i would try to do it more often.IMO the overstocking of liverocks really help a lot.my lights now are 75 watts of compact flourescent ,and 32 watts of t5 high output

that is some cheap stuff WOW. i wish it was like that in miami, but i guess they think that wer rich over hear. nice setup but the glass is a little foggy, dont ya think.

please post more updates, I am always fascinated with reef tanks that are thriving on minimalistic equipment. Shows us what is possible.

the supplier told me that their supplier didn't brought purple acros due to weather so i just took 2 montis with bleached tips, but it usually heals after 2 weeks.and the other corals that were gone were transffered to my new 20 gallon outdoor tank.

"Outdoor Tank!" wow, you have to send picts. Is it successful? what will you keep in it and how will you control temp swings?

Corals look good

How long have you had the clam ?

Although you're trying to be minimalist you may want to consider a second source of water flow. If the single HOB filter fails you could lose the tank if you don't catch it in time. I'm running a similar 10 gallon tank and after the Aquaclear jammed up a couple of times I added a backup powerhead.

Agu-yeah i have extra power head inside.the 1500l/h.

btw guys the outdoor tank is still on the works but there are already corals inside, maybe about 7 pieces.and i have a yellow long nose butterfly there hehe.

Looks good... can I recommend a spring cleaning? Get a Kent Proscraper with 24" handle and a stainless steel blade from premium aquatics for only $16.95 i love mine... yet i hate my magfloat... it wore out real fast... it has a 1/4" layer of coraline on it which is pretty cool though! man coraline grows supppper fast in my tank for some reason...

hi i'm going to posts updates next next week coz i'm kinda busy, but my local marine aquarium community suggests that i add a sump,so this week i'm going to add a big plastic bin,and i'm gonna put all my liverocks there and i'm going to connect it to my7 main tank, and i'm going to order some new liverocks for my main tank, and i'm going to re-rockscape it,and i'll add another t5 HO this week, coz i'll make this tank purely sps, wait for my updates.btw hawaiianwargod-i'm in manila, and i'm just 15 yrs. old, hehe,
