Low mag salt?

Guacamole

Hello all,

I'm looking for a low mag salt. My tank's mag is currently 1650 (elos), alk 9, cal 450. I am currently using Seachem reefsalt, and before that I was using Sainity. My mag has always been high. Not doing a water change really isn't ideal for me because my NO3 is around 20 and I don't want it to keep creeping up on me. I've never dosed Mag, Just the BRS 2 part alk and calc. any input is appreciated.

Cool man, thanks for the reply! I saw the sticky, but I wasn’t sure how current it was, and if anyone may have had a specific experiences. I may try to use the Brightwell salt, seeing how that’s about the only other thing I can get in my area besides seachem, and IO. I have been debating just going back to IO because to be honest my tank always looked best when using that salt. Again thanks for the reply.

Recently I tried Tropic Marine salt mix. I thought this brand was better but when I measured my Mg I found out it was about 1070-1100. It might be this batch that I was using. It is an expensive mix. This salt mix definately lowerd my Mg concentration.

I would get a second opinion on the magnesium result. I'm not sure how the level got that high without dosing. That said, most of the salt product seem okay, and water changes should lower the level.
