lower light and higher light Zoas question

Ok I am thinking of using a TEK 24" retro rather then a 36" retro to have the edges a little darker then the middel for those lower light Zoas. What do you all think. The tank is a 40g breeder so it is only 16" deep. The light will be about 4" or so off the water. Or should I just go with the 36" and don't worry about it.

Thanks

Im using a 250wt 20k MH on a 20 long. All the zoos do great, I also snorkel to get my own zoos. Ive never seen zoos under 10 feet deep. Sometimes at low tide they are even out of the water. Im wondering if there is such a thing as a low light zoo. ??

Thats another question as well. I have heard that the blues don't like the intensity that the oranges and red like so that is why I was thinking that way.

Any one else.

The ones in my tank are 1/2 under the suface and the look awsome. I also have some of the same as far from the light as they can get, and they look awsome also.
Check out my other post for pics and video of my tank:) Greg

hey there,

I found some nice zoas diving at 60 feet a couple weeks ago, they like the top of the tank as well. I am running 660W VHO and all the zoanthids love the light.

Zooguy,
would you mind sending me a pm. I am looking for some good spots to snorkel. Was going to head down to the keys this weekend , however came down with a nasty cold. I have been looking in this area for cnidarians and have not had much luck in shallow water. I am not looking to profit, break any laws or cause a disturbance , like you just trying to find a few polyps to add to the collection

thanks
